GAFFNEY - Newberry College head assistant wrestling coach and head cross country coach Kelly Revells has been hired as head wrestling coach at Limestone College, as announced by the Upstate school Wednesday.

Revells had served Newberry as the head assistant wrestling coach since the program's inception in 2005. He added men's and women's cross country head coach to his duties in 2012.

"We're really excited Kelly has earned this wonderful opportunity," Newberry head wrestling coach Jason Valek said. "It is a great reflection of Newberry College wrestling's impact and the type of people who have led us to so much success. I can't thank Kelly enough for all he has done for our program. Limestone is getting a quality guy who will do nothing but great things for the Saints. We wish Kelly all the best."

In Revells' tenure at Newberry, 30 wrestlers earned All-American status, 12 grapplers earned All-Academic honors and three student-athletes won NCAA national championships. The scarlet and gray also finished in the top eight nationally for six consecutive seasons.
