NEWBERRY – Newberry women’s lacrosse is raising awareness for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in their game against Emmanuel on Saturday, February 24 at Setzler Field beginning at 3:00 p.m.
The Wolves are hosting a raffle to raise donations with a giveaway happening at halftime. Tickets are 1 for $2, 5 for $5, or 10 for $10. All proceeds will go to the COPD foundation.
Head coach Rashelle McLellan is excited about supporting the COPD foundation because it affects some of the players' families.
According to the American Lung Association, COPD affects millions of Americans and is the third leading cause of death in the United States. It is a chronic lung disease that affects more than 11 million people in the U.S. alone.
