ROCK HILL- Newberry midfielder Rachel Dillon was named to Second Team All-South Atlantic Conference as announced by the league office this afternoon. 

 

The sophomore finished the 2017 year tied third in goals scored in the conference and tied for ninth in total points. 

 

The native of Chesapeake Beach, Md. compiled a total of 58 points on the campaign, notching 49 goals and dishing out nine assists. Her 58 points on the season ranks second all-time in school history, sitting two short of the 2014 mark set by KerriAnn Barlage.

 

Dillon's 49 goals also put her at No. 2 in Newberry lacrosse history, placing just one goal shy of the 50 set by Barlage in that same 2014 season. She also ranked 26th in all of Division II Women's Lacrosse in goals scored.
