Kelly Revells

Revells enters his fifth year as an assistant coach for the Newberry College wrestling team.

“Kelly is a great part of our staff, he brings a wealth of experience and the invaluable component of success in his wrestling career," stated Head Coach Jason Valek. "Kelly will be called on for his expertise in technique and to work with the team in the regard. I am glad to have a coach of Kelly’s caliber as part of our staff.”

Revells brings a wealth of connections as well as experience to the mat from both his high school and collegiate careers.  He was a two-time state champion for Summerville High School.

After high school, Revells went to Lassen Community College in Susanville, Calif., where he won the 1997 Junior College National Championship at 133 pounds. He then moved to Eastern Illinois where he was a two-time NCAA Division I qualifier.

Originally from Summerville, S.C., Kelly Revells was hired on August 1, 2005 to join the Newberry wrestling staff as an assistant coach. His passion for coaching brought him back to the Palmetto State.
