Jamie Ramm enters his first season as assistant coach of the Newberry women’s soccer team.

The 2011 season will mark his first year as a coach at the collegiate level.

Ramm graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. While at Lander, Ramm was a member of the men’s soccer team and was a two time National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American selection and was the Bearcats Player of the Year in 2009. Ramm also holds a National First Diploma in Sport and National Certificate in Sport, Fitness and Development from York College in York, England.

Ramm has coached youth soccer in England, France and Canada before taking over as head men’s soccer coach at Greenwood High School in Greenwood, S.C. In his last coaching job before joining the Newberry College coaching staff, Ramm helped lead Greenwood High School to the Region 1 South Carolina High School Regional Championship.

The Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England native played and coached for Scarborough FC, York City Academy, Pickering Town and Whitby Town in his native England. In Canada was spent with the Ottawa Fury of the USL Premier Development League.

Ramm resides in Greenwood, S.C.
