Men finish 23rd, Eddy leads women at Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTE - The Newberry cross country teams wrapped up the 2013 season at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional on Saturday at McAlpine Creek Park, as the men finished 23rd as a team. Juniors Nathan Collier and Rebecca Eddy led the men and women, respectively, as individuals.

MEN's 10K
The Wolves finished 23rd in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and were led by a 73rd place finish by Nathan Collier (Weatherford, Texas). Collier finished the 10K course with a time of 34:23.

Junior Austin Sorensen (Murrieta, Calif.) was Newberry second finisher with a time of 34:50 at 85th place. Freshman Conner Roudabush (Goose Creek, S.C.) was 167th at 39:08, freshman Christian Lawyer (Ladson, S.C.) was 183rd at 44:59 and freshman Taylor Manning was 187th at 50:24.

WOMEN's 6K
Running as individuals, the Newberry women were led by junior Rebecca Eddy (Eugene, Ore.) in 166th with a time of 27:46.

Junior Romina Adum (Guayaquil, Ecuador) was 171st at 27:53, junior Kelley Strong (Union, S.C.) was 175th at 28:20 and freshman Makaylyn Higgins was 201st at 30:21.
