Wolves women's XC placed 9th at Upstate Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Newberry College women's cross country team finished the Upstate Invitational, hosted by USC Upstate, in ninth place on Saturday.

Junior Melissa Peacock (Charleston, S.C.) ran a 21:54.38 and placed in 55th for the Wolves. Senior Whitney Wiles (Iva, S.C.) finished the race in 67th with a time 23:25.75.

Freshman Taylor Campbell (Greenville, S.C.) ran a 24:40.50 and placed 73rd while freshman Hannah Rohrer (Taylors, S.C.) ran a 26:26.31 and finished 77th.

Freshman Brooke Lynn (Greer, S.C.) placed 79th and ran a 28:23.62.

Three men's cross country Wolves took part in the Upstate Invitational with senior Brad House (Lexington, S.C.) posting a personal best 27:16.38 and placed 31st.

Sophomore Patrick Magwood (Varnville, S.C.) ran a 33:29.88 and placed 86th while Jorge Santos (Woodruff, S.C.) ran a 34:09.53 and finished in 89th.

Newberry will race next at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational in Newton, N.C. on October 23.
