DUE WEST, S.C. - The Newberry College men's and women's cross country teams each took second place at the Erskine Invitational in Due West, S.C. on Saturday morning.
The Wolves men were led by senior Brad House (Lexington, S.C.) and freshman Desbourne Frith (East Orange, N.J.) with each placing in the top-5 individually. House recorded a time of 28:06 to place third and Frith took fifth place with a time of 28:33.
Christopher Duneath placed 15th running a 35:13 and senior Jorge Santos (Woodruff, S.C.) placed 17th with a time of 35:27. Sophomore Patrick Magwood (Varnville, S.C.) grabbed 18th (35:48) and junior Chris Duncan (Clemson, S.C.) took 19th (36:26).
The Wolves women featured junior Melissa Peacock (Charleston, S.C.) in 12th place after running a 23:18. Senior Whitney Wiles (Iva, S.C.) took 18th (25:04) while freshman Hannah Rohrer (Taylors, S.C.) finished in 22nd (26:15).
