Wolves XC begin season in Spartanburg in the Eye Opener Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Newberry College country team competed at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C. early Saturday morning.

The Wolves men placed 19th with an accumulated a point total of 541. Senior Brad House (Lexington, S.C.) placed in 72nd with a time of 28:09. Freshman Desbourne Frith (East Orange, N.J.) ran a 29:25 and placed 104th while senior Christopher McMillon (Dillon, S.C.) finished in 172nd with a time of 34:11.

Senior David Faulkner (Lexington, S.C.) completed the race in 35:13 and in 175th. Junior Christopher Duncan (Clemson, S.C.) placed 179th and ran a 36:48.

Junior Melissa Peacock (Charleston, S.C.) placed 126th with a time of 23:19 for the Wolves women's cross country program.

Senior Whitney Wiles (Iva, S.C.) finished in 151st with a time of 24:57 and freshman Hannah Rohrer (Taylors, S.C.) placed 164th completing the race at 26:04.
The Wolves run next at the Erskine Invitational in Due West, S.C. on Saturday, September 11 at 9 a.m.
