Newberry women's XC finishes 21st at NCAA Regionals

WINGATE, N.C. - The Newberry College cross country teams competed this past weekend at the NCAA Regional Championships in Wingate, N.C. The women's team finished in 21st place with 548 total points.

Lees-McCrae College was the team champion in the women's race and Queens University of Charlotte won the men's championship.

For the Newberry women's team, senior Heather Warren (North Augusta, S.C.) finished in 87th place with a time of 26:48. Sophomore Ashton Sullivan (Barnewell, S.C.) completed the race in a time of 28:34 and in 119th place.

Freshman Rachel Tooley (Tega Cay, S.C.) finished in 124th with a time of 28:55 and junior Jennifer Johnson completed the race in 128th with a time of 29:19. Junior Kasey Tucker (Greenwood, S.C.) took 149th place after a time of 35:26.

The Newberry men's team did not compete in the team competition, but did enter three individual runners.

Sophomore Bradley House (Lexington, S.C.) placed 81st with a 37:13. Junior Ty Skinner (Woodruff, S.C.) finished in 104th after a 39:22 and junior Seth Utley (Columbia, S.C.) finished 106th with a 39:31.
