Newberry men's XC finishes seventh at SAC Tournament

CHAPIN, S.C. - The Newberry College men's cross country team finished seventh at the 2008 South Atlantic Conference Championship at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin, S.C. The scarlet and gray completed the race with 195 points in the meet. Mars Hill College won the championship with a total of 31 points.

Newberry's top finisher was Bradley House (Lexington, S.C.), who finished in 33rd place with a time of 29:12. Also, Jack Holden (Burlington, N.C.) was Newberry's second finisher and completed with a time of 30:51, good for 49th place.

Wingate's Jayce Watson (Millersport, Ohio) was the individual race champion with a time of 26:18.

Newberry hosted the SAC event as seven women's teams and eight men's teams competed in the championship.
