Newberry continues to improve at Anderson Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Newberry College cross country team continued its preparations for the SAC Championships as they participated in the Anderson University Invitational on Saturday.

The women's team finished in 10th place in the meet, and was once again led by senior Heather Warren (North Augusta, S.C.). Warren completed the 5-kilometer course in 22:07.1 for a 37th place finish. Jennifer Johnson (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) was 46th with a time of 22:42.3, and Rachel Tooley (Fort Mill, S.C.) was 57th with a time of 23:57.7.

The men were led by Brad House (Lexington, S.C.), who was 27th after finishing the 8-kilometer course in 29:48.6. Ty Skinner (Woodruff, S.C.) was 36th with a time of 30:52.6, and Seth Utley (Columbia, S.C.) was 39th with a time of 31:42.3.

Newberry continues its preparations for the South Atlantic Conference Championships. The scarlet and gray will host that meet on Saturday, October 25, at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin.
