Newberry XC runs at Augusta State Invitational

EVANS, Ga. - The Newberry College cross country teams participated in the Augusta State Jaguar Invitational at Blanchard Park on Saturday. The Newberry women finished seventh as a team in the event.

Heather Warren (North Augusta, S.C.) led the scarlet and gray, finishing the 6-kilometer course in 28:29.50 for a 25th place finish. Jennifer Johnson (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) was not far behind in 31st place with a time of 28:56.80.

Selected Newberry men competed in the 10-kilometer race as well, led by Brad House (Lexington, S.C.), who was 19th with a time of 39:05.60. Ty Skinner (Woodruff, S.C.) was 25th at 40:58.10.

Newberry will continue its training over the next month as the teams prepare for the South Atlantic Conference championships. Newberry will host the SAC meet at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin on Saturday, October 25.
