Newberry XC runs well at Limestone Invitational

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Newberry College cross country teams continued to improve as they participated in the Limestone Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The Newberry men finished in sixth place in the team competition.

Brad House (Lexington, S.C.) led the Newberry harriers with a 27th place finish, running the five-mile course in 29:38.00. Ty Skinner (Woodruff, S.C.) finished in 29:57.14 for 30th place, while Ryan Fielden (Tega Cay, S.C.) was 34th at 30:19.00. Seth Utley (Columbia, S.C.) was 39th at 30:47.00, and Ruben Bravo (Camden, S.C.) was 42nd at 31:14.08.

Four Newberry runner competed in the women's race. Heather Warren (North Augusta, S.C.) and Jennifer Johnson (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) finished 18th and 19th, respectively, with finishes of 20:17 and 20:22. Ashton Sullivan (Barnwell, S.C.) was 35th at 22:34, and Kasey Tucker was 64th at 26:33.

The Newberry cross country team resumes action next Saturday at the Augusta State Invitational.
