Indians XC finishes in fifth place

SALISBRUY, N.C. - The Newberry College men's cross country team finished in fifth place at the South Atlantic Conference tournament in Salisbury, N.C. on Saturday morning. The Indians finished with 155 points. Mars Hill College won the SAC championship for cross country with a point total of 29.

Newberry's Devon Gillett (Jessup, Mary.) placed in the top-30 with a 25th place finish after running a 27:34. Kamron Johnston (Bossier City, La.) was the next best Indian finisher in 34th. Johnston ran a 28:38.

Wingate University's Jayce Watson was the individual champion, running a 25:06 circuit.
