Men's Tennis Tops Limestone, 6-3

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Newberry men’s tennis team scored a 6-3 victory over Limestone Tuesday afternoon at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center. The win moves Newberry to 6-2 and drops Limestone to 1-2 on the season.


Newberry took two out of three doubles matches as Nikhil Mannepalli and Angel Pizzaro were 8-5 winners at No. 2 and Richard Zeh and Logan Adkins were also 8-5 winners at No. 3.


The singles matches were closely contested as four out of the six flights went to three sets. Jordan Monosky was victorious 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 at the No. 2 slot and Mannepalli notched a 0-6, 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3.


Pizzaro recorded a 2-6, 7-6 6-1 win at No. 4 and Zeh closed out the victory with a 6-1, 6-3 decision at No. 6.


Newberry will face Benedict (2-4) on Saturday. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
