ANDERSON - The Newberry College men's soccer team fell to the Trojans of Anderson, 1-0, on Wednesday night.

The Wolves (2-5-2, 2-3-1 SAC) and the Trojans' (5-5, 2-3 SAC) played a tight contest throughout the game until Lars Kaula broke the deadlock. In the 73rd minute, Kaula got on the end of a cross from his teammate and tapped it in.

Newberry was slow on the offensive side throughout the game, only taking three shots in the second half of the contest. Brad Dixon, who ranks fourth in saves in the conference, made five saves in the contest. Anderson held the edge in corner 4-2.

The statistics gave only a slight edge to Anderson as they outshot the Wolves 11-7 and 2-6 in shots on target. Daniel Reyes and Steve Martinez led the Wolves with both of their lone shots of the contest being on goal. Tobias Henriksen added two shots for Newberry.

The Wolves will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Harrogate, Tenn. to take on Lincoln Memorial at 3:30 p.m.
