GREENWOOD, S.C. - Newberry freshman Julian Feneberg led the Wolves with three shots as Newberry fell 3-0 at Lander.

The Bearcats avenged an overtime loss a season ago to the Wolves (1-1) as Newberry surrendered three goals to Lander.

Lander opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Matthew Bell slipped a shot past Newberry's sophomore goalkeeper Nicholas Lucido (Lakeland, Fla.). Lucido recorded a pair of saves in the opening half.

The second half saw Lander's Clement Dauchy record a pair of goals in the 72nd and 74th minutes.

Fenebeg (Durach, Germany) placed one shot on frame, as did junior Joseph Santos (Charleston, S.C.). Lucido recorded four saves in his second game at Newberry. The Wolves were outshot by the Bearcats 12-7, while Bearcats also led in corner kicks 5-3.

Newberry continues the season on Tuesday when the Wolves play host to Francis Marion at 4 p.m.
