NORMAN, Okla. - Newberry's men's golf team has landed at No. 10 in the Division II Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, placing the Wolves inside the top 10 in two major rankings.
Newberry moved up seven spots in the poll to No. 10 following the Wolves' dominant 15-stroke victory at The Ocean Course last month. The field in Kiawah Island included No. 12 Missouri-St. Louis and No. 16 USC Aiken. Throughout the course of the season, the Wolves have also bested No. 6 North Alabama, No. 11 California Baptist, No. 17 Lander, No. 18 Lincoln Memorial, No. 20 Flagler, and No. 21 Columbus State and finished tied with No. 8 Rollins.
In addition to their newly-minted top 10 status in the coaches' poll, the Wolves are slotted at No. 9 in the most recent Golfstat Relative Rankings. This system uses a metric called relative win-loss percentage to rank all 219 Division II teams.
Spencer Skiff, recognized as Newberry's Chick-fil-A Student-Athlete of the Month Presented by Sodexo for the month of February, is currently ranked No. 4 in Division II and No. 27 in all of collegiate golf by Golfstat.
