Teams play head-to-head matches to advance through the bracket, beginning with Thursday morning's quarterfinals. Student-athletes play in twosomes, one from each team, and tee off in 10-minute increments. All pairings play 18 holes. The lowest total in each pairing receives a point for his team with a total of five points up for grabs. The team with the most points advances to the next round.

Should a tiebreaker be necessary, the total strokes of all five players for each team will totaled. If still tied, a sudden-death playoff will occur with all five scores counting.
