KIAWAH ISLAND - The Newberry Wolves shot a 309 (+21) in the opening round of the Kiawah Classic by Aramark at the Turtle Point GC on Sunday.

Newberry is tied for 21st in the tournament with Presbyterian. The Wolves are the only Division II team in the field, and will look to improve from Sunday's highest stroke round of the fall.

Carlos Leandro shot a +2 (74) in the first round of the 54-hole tournament with two birdies and an eagle to tie for 42nd in a tightly packed field.

Luke Atack is tied for 63rd after a 76 (+4). He eagled the opening hole of the event and had an up-and-down round, finishing over par despite the eagle and six birdies.

Spencer Skiff is tied for 86th at 78 (+6), Evan DeGrazia is tied for 104th at 81 (+9) and Fredrik Fossum is tied for 113th with an 87 (+15).
