CLEMMONS, N.C. - Newberry College senior Matthew Campbell (Rome, N.Y.) sits in a tie for fourth place individually, as the 19th-ranked Wolves are in fourth place after two rounds at the Will Wilson Tanglewood Intercollegiate. Newberry shot a 297 in Monday's second round.
Campbell shot a 3-over 72 in the second round on the par 70 layout, and is now 1-over par for the tournament, tied for fourth place. Jon Weiss (Sumter, S.C.) is tied for 13th at 4-over par after Tuesday's 74.
Matthew Killen (Yorkshire, England) is tied for 21st at 10-over for for the tournament after matching his 75 from Sunday. Ben Firebaugh (Norfolk, Va.) also matched his Sunday round, shooting a 76. He now sits in a tie for 28th at 12-over after two rounds.
Layton Truax (Savannah, Ga.) is competing as an individual in this tournament, and is tied for 36th at 12-over par, while Nick Lussier (Barton, Vt.) is tied for 48th at 24-over.
Newberry is 11 strokes behind co-leaders UNC Pembroke and Wingate, while Carson-Newman is one stroke off of the lead. Belmont Abbey is two strokes back of the Wolves, while only eight stroke separate fourth and eighth entering Tuesday's final round.
