NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College men's golf program and head coach Brian McCants announced the addition of four signees to the roster to round out the 2010 recruiting class.
Cameron Lamb, Sean Marquardt, Layton Truax, and Dixon Walker will join fall signee Ben Firebaugh bolstering a Wolves' roster that will feature five seniors in 2010-11.

“I am pleased to have these four young men joining Ben to form the nucleus of our golf program's future,” said McCants, “I expect each of these players to be very successful during their Newberry careers.”

Cameron Lamb, Easley, S.C. - A graduate of Easley High School, Lamb ranked 84th in the July 2010 South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) rankings. Cameron shot 72-76 to finish in second place at the 2010 Patriot Invitational hosted by North Charleston High School and churned out a 72-72 to finish runner-up at the 2010 Indian Invitational in Vidalia, Ga. Lamb shot 81-72-80 to help Easley High School finish third in the 2010 4-A State Championships at the Furman Golf Course in Greenville, S.C. A two-time All-Region selection (2009,2010), Cameron has a personal low 18-hole round of 66, shot at Vidalia Country Club, and was a quarterfinalist in the 2007 South Carolina Junior Match Play.

Sean Marquardt, Willowbrook, Ill. - A graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, Sean shot a 73 to finish in second place in the Illinois High School Sectionals. Marquardt shot a 78-71 to nab third place individually in the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour (MAJGT) Bloomington Open. Sean churned out a 77-78-71 in the 2009 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Flossmoor Junior Open and also took a sixth place finish at the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) Yankee Trace junior tournament in Centreville, Ohio after shooting 74-74. This summer, Sean shot a 76 and won a playoff to qualify for the 2010 Illinois Open. Marquardt has a personal 18-hole low of 68, set twice at the Batavia Invitational in 2007 and 2008.

Layton Truax, Savannah, Ga. - A graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School, Layton was named the 2008 Georgia Athlete of the Year for golf by the Georgia High School Athletic Association (GHSAA). Layton was a medalist at the 2008 GHSAA 2-A State Championships shooting a 69. Truax shot a 68-67 to win the 2008 Mary Caulder Invitational in Savannah. In 2009, Layton was the GHSAA AA-Region Medalist shooting a 69 in Metter, Ga. In May of this year, Truax shot 73-73 to win medalist honors at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) Rose Hill classic at the Rose Hill Golf Course in Bluffton, S.C. Truax has a personal 18-hole low of 64, which was set at the Savannah Golf Club.

Dixon Walker, Lexington, S.C. - A graduate of Lexington High School, Dixon was named 2010 Most Valuable Player for his Wildcats team. In 2009, Walker earned the team honor for Most Improved and has golf letters for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Dixon shot a 78-78 in the 2010 Georgia-South Carolina Cup held at Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca, S.C. Dixon's personal 18-hole low is a 66, shot at the Country Club of Lexington.
