NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Newberry College men's golf team stayed No. 20 in the nation in the latest release of the Golf World/Nike Golf Poll released on Wednesday morning.

The scarlet and gray received 83 points in the new poll and were 22 points behind No. 19 St. Edward's University. After accumulating 391 points and 10 first place votes, the No. 1 team in the nation according to the poll is Columbus State University. Georgia College and State University is No. 2 with 374 points.

Nova Southeastern University is No. 3, the University of Central Oklahoma is No. 4, and USC Aiken is No. 5.

The Newberry men's golf team will be heading to Florence, Ala. on May 3-6 to compete at the NCAA Super Regional after the scarlet and gray secured an automatic qualification by winning the 2009 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship on Tuesday.

Shooting a three round team total of 883 (291-298-294; +19) and won a second consecutive SAC Championship by 12 strokes.
