GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Newberry College shot a second round 316 to finish in 11th place with a two-day total of 627 at the Tusculum Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the par-71, 6,733 yard Links Hill Country Club.
Grand Valley State University won the team title, shooting a +20 588. Saginaw Valley State followed with a 590 and USC Upstate finished third with a 593. Lewis University and the host school Tusculum College finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Individually for the Indians, freshman Harold Turner finished tied for 38th place with a 154. Brandon Burnside followed with a 155 while Sean Collard shot a 157. A pair of juniors in Martin Gasque and Michael Edwards shot a 161 and 168, respectively.
Tusculum’s Darren Christie took home medalist honors, shooting a two-under par 140.
Newberry will compete in the Carolina Sands Invitational on March 30 in White Lake, N.C.
