Mengel Finishes Tied for Fifth at Outback Intercollegiate

PANAMA CITY, FLA. Senior Hunter Mengel shot a two-round 146 to finish in a tie for fifth-place at the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate which was held at the Hombre Golf Club and was hosted by Catawba College.

In first round action, Mengel shot an even par 71 and then followed with a 75 on the second round to end the two-day tournament.  Senior Daniel Lee finished tied for 26th-place with a 154.

As a team, the Indians shot a combined total of 633 to finish in 13th-place.  Newberry will next compete in the Presbyterian Intercollegiate on February 18-19 at Musgrove Mill in Clinton, S.C.
