Lee Named All-American Scholar

NEWBERRY, S.C. - Newberry College men’s golfer Daniel Lee has been named a 2006 All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches of America Association.

Lee, a senior from Lincolnton, GA, earns this award after having a solid junior season last year for the Indians.  He finished the season with a stroke average of  77.11 in 18 tournament rounds.

The criteria for this award consisted of a student-athlete carrying a 3.6 cumulative grade-point average or higher as well as having a stroke average under 78 while competing in a minimum of 15 tournament rounds.

“This award is very prestigious in the world of collegiate golf, said Newberry head men’s golf coach Brian McCants.  Daniel has worked very hard on the golf course and in the classroom to achieve this honor.  As a coach, you treasure the opportunity to work with young people the caliber of Daniel.”
