Indians 13th at Kiawah Island Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Newberry menís golf team finished first round play in a tie for 13th place at the Kiawah Island Invitational on Monday.  The Indians posted a team score of 317 and are tied with fellow SAC school Lenoir-Rhyne.

Lander University leads the field with a 292 and are followed by Belmont Abbey (293), Washburn (292), Presbyterian (295), and Armstrong Atlantic State (296.)

Individually, Harold Turner is tied for 38th place, shooting a 78 on the day.  Baxter Culler of USC Upstate leads the field with a five-under 67.
