Men's golf eleventh in Outback Intercollegiate

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The Newberry College men's golf team finshed in 11th place out of 16 teams that participated in the Outback Intercollegiate held at Hombre Golf Club and hosted by Catawba College.  The Indians shot 649, which was 49 strokes behind Columbus State, who won the two-day tournement with a score of 595.

Hunter Mengel (Stone Mountain, Ga.) led the Indians with +14 for the tournament good for a 19th-place finish.  He was followed by Martin Gasque (Holy Hill, SC.) with +18 which was good for a 37th-place finish.

Newberry will see action next at the Richard Randleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. March 5-7.
