BADIN, N.C. - On the heels of its third-place finish at the Mid-Carolina Invitational, the Newberry men's golf program enjoyed another top five finish, this one at the Old North State Golf Club in the Johnny Palmer Invitational.  Host school Pfeiffer took the title by sixteen strokes over the closest competitors, Lenoir-Rhyne and USC Upstate.

Newberry finished one stroke behind UNC Pembroke, a team that bested the Indians by twelve strokes this past weekend.  Martin Gasque (Holly Hill, S.C.) carried the torch for the Indians, finishing in 22nd.  JR Jones (Washington, W.Va.) had the low round for the second 18 of the tournament, carding a 72.
