Men's golf finishes fifth at Barton College Dogfight

CLAYTON, N.C. - The Newberry College men's golf team turned in a fifth place performance out of ten teams at the Dogfight at the Neuse hosted by Barton College.  The host Bulldogs won the tournament by 31 strokes over the second place finisher, Ohio Valley College.

Third place was claimed by Spartanburg Methodist College, which boasted the medallist, Brian Rush, who finished -13 for the tournament and bested the competition by ten strokes.

Freshman Martin Gasque (Holly Hill, S.C.) was the best Indian on the course, tying for 11th and shooting a 1-over on day two.  Newberry placed three golfers in the top twenty to finish fifth.
