INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following a final week split the Newberry Wolves remained in the NCAA Regional Rankings for another week, at the No. 9 slot.

During the midweek contest Newberry hosted its regular season home finale against the Wingate Bulldogs as both teams were vying for a top seed in the South Atlantic Conference tournament. Powered 22 points from Demarkus Smith (Johnston, S.C.) on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, Newberry earned the 100-76 victory. Dondray Walker (Fountain Inn, S.C.) contributed 18 points on 5-of-8 from the floor in his return from injury.

On the weekend contest the Wolves traveled to take on the Carson-Newman Eagles with the winner earning the No. 2 seed in the SAC tournament. Despite receiving four players in double digits including 15 points and seven rebounds from Brandon Taylor (Coshocton, Ohio), Newberry was unable to pull out the victory.
