NEWBERRY - On Wednesday evening the Newberry College men's basketball team heads to the Queen City for a matchup against 2nd place Queens at 8 p.m. inside Levine Arena.

Newberry defeated Tusculum 88-78 inside Pioneer Arena on Saturday afternoon. Brandon Taylor posted a career-high 15 rebounds including 14 defensive rebounds. He tallied 16 points and contributed two assists and three steals. Mitch Riggs recorded a game-high 21 points on 7-of-14 from the field. The Wolves are led by senior Demarkus Smith who tallies 16.6 points per game along with his 4.2 rebounds per contest and 2.4 assists per game. Taylor snags an average of 4.7 rebounds per outing along with his 9.8 points per game. Riggs pours in 12.9 points per game on 43.8% shooting from floor as well as dishing out 2.8 assists per game.

Queens boasts two scorers in Sean Morgan (15.5 points per game) and Rob Lewis (15.3 points per game) who tally more than 15 points per game. Marquis Rankin contributes 10.0 points per outing. Morgan also leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game for the Royals. Newberry defeated Queens 96-80 in Newberry earlier in the season.

Newberry returns home for Senior Day on February 21 versus Mars Hill then the home finale versus Wingate. The regular season concludes on February 28 at Carson-Newman
