NEWBERRY - The Newberry College men's basketball team hits the road for the first time in two weeks as they head to Anderson to face the Anderson University Trojans inside the Abney Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.

Newberry snapped its four game losing streak on Wednesday evening against Queens Royals 96-80 inside Eleazer Arena. Six different players scored in duoble figures for the Wolves including Demarkus Smith who tallied 20 points and snagged three rebounds. Vincent Hicklin tallied 12 points including 4-of-5 from the charity stripe while collecting a team-high nine rebounds.

Leading the way on the year for the Scarlet and Gray is Smith with 16.9 points per game and a team-high 4.3 rebounds per contest. Brandon Taylor also adds a team-high 4.3 rebounds per game to compliment his 9.3 points per game. Mitch Riggs also adds double digits per game at 12.4 points per game on 45% shooting from the floor. The Wolves lead the conference in points per game with 94.3 and is second in rebounds with 40.1 per contest. Newberry is the only team in the South Atlantic Conference with double digit steals at 10.1.

For the Trojans of Anderson University, they are led by Myson Jones with 12.4 points per game as well as 2.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per contest. Chris Ross is the team leader with 4.6 rebounds per game along with his 10.2 points per game. Anderson ranks last in the conference with 66.8 points per game and second to last in total rebounds with 31.8 per game.

Following Saturday's contest, the Wolves travel to Wingate for their first meeting of the season. Newberry returns homes to face nationally ranked Lincoln Memorial followed by Lenoir-Rhyne.
