NEWBERRY - With the 99-80 victory over Southern Wesleyan on Saturday evening the No. 21/18 ranked Newberry College men's basketball team remains undefeated as they travel to take on the undefeated Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University.

Newberry defeated Southern Wesleyan on Saturday for the second victory over the Warriors in as many weeks. The Wolves had five different scorers reach double figures: James Ashby (16pts, 6rebs), Dondray Walker (15pts), Mitch Riggs (14pts, 6asts), Demarkus Smith (14pts) and Xavier Holmes (12pts). Walker's 14 points pushes him closer to 1,000 points as he is now 27 points away.

Newberry is now 10-0 overall coming into the top-25 clash against Lincoln Memorial. They’ve lost three straight games to the Railsplitters with their last win coming on February 9, 2013, 113-98. Smith (12.9ppg) and Walker (12.eppg) lead the way for the Wolves in points per game with Riggs averaging just below 12 at 11.8 points per game.

Lincoln Memorial comes into the contest at 9-0 and ranked in the top-10 of both NABC and D2SIDA polls. Led by Luquon Choice (15.8ppg) and Lorenza Ross (14.8ppg) in scoring, the Railsplitters' Keenan Peterson (6.1rbg) leads the way on the glass along with Curtis McMillion (5.7rbg).

Following Monday evening's contest, the men's basketball team will take a break for the Christmas holiday as well as the mandatory two week break period per Division II rules. They will return to action on January 3 as they play host to the Tusculum Pioneers at 4 p.m. inside Eleazer Arena.
