NEWBERRY - The recently ranked Newberry College men's basketball team takes on the College of Faith Saints in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

The No. 22/18 Wolves enter the contest coming off a convincing South Atlantic Conference victory over the Anderson Trojans 74-59, on Saturday afternoon inside Eleazer Arena. Newberry had three scorers reach double figures against the Trojans in Gerald Evans (Inglewood, Calif), Dondray Walker (Fountain Inn, S.C.) and James Stepp (Greensboro, N.C.). Evans tallied 13 points and including a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe, while Walker contributed 14 points. Stepp led the way for Newberry with 15 points on 5-of-11 from distance.

This will be the first contest for the men's basketball squad since being ranked in the top 25 of Division II polls as they are currently slotted at the 21 ranking in the NABC Coaches Poll and No. 18 in the D2SIDA National Poll, both being released on Tuesday afternoon.

College of Faith (0-6) has dropped contests to Barber Scotia (90-55), Piedmont International (100-75), Clinton College (111-80), North Carolina Central (123-65), Voorhees College (95-68), and Saint Augustine (110-59).

After their matchup with the Saints, the Wolves host the Southern Wesleyan Warriors on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. a team they defeated 118-78 on November 28. To conclude the 2014 slate of the schedule, Newberry travels to No. 8/10 Lincoln Memorial on Monday December 15 at 8 p.m.
