Wolves are fifth seed in 2014 Food Lion SAC Tournament

ROCK HILL - The South Atlantic Conference has released the seedings and bracket for the 2014 Food Lion SAC Tournament and the Newberry Wolves are the fifth seed in this year's tournament.

Newberry finished the regular season with a conference record of 14-8 and overall record of 18-8. The Wolves hit the road on Wednesday, March 5, for the conference tournament quarterfinal and will visit fourth-seed Lenoir-Rhyne (15-7 SAC, 16-10 overall). Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The teams split the regular season series, each winning on their home floor. Newberry won a wild 134-127 double overtime game on January 15, while Lenoir-Rhyne earned an 83-79 win on February 17.

The winner of the Newberry/L-R game goes on to face the winner of No. 1 Lincoln Memorial and No. 8 Wingate at noon Saturday, March 8, at Furman's Timmons Arena in Greenville.
