INDIANAPOLIS - The Newberry College men's basketball team is ranked 10th in the initial Southeast Region rankings, which were released Wednesday afternoon.

At the time the rankings were calculated, the Wolves had an overall Division II and in-region record of 12-6 and is one of four South Atlantic Conference teams in the regional rankings.

The Wolves are in the top 10 of their region for the first time under head coach Dave Davis and the first time since the next-to-last ranking of the 2009 season.

The Southeast region is comprised of the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas. The three tournament champions of those leagues and the top five at-large teams following the conference tournaments qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament in mid-March.
