NEWBERRY, S.C. - Newberry College head men's basketball coach Dave Davis announces the signing of 6-1 Clinton JC guard EJ Mills.

The First Team All-Region X performer was the leading scorer in the league, averaging 15.7 points per game. Mills made 44 three-point shots and ranked in the top 10 nationally from the free throw line at 86 percent. He scored 29 points vs. Atlanta Metro and was named All-Tournament in both the Florida State College Basketball Classic and the Region X Tournament. Mills played his high school basketball at Dutch Fork where he averaged 18.5 points per game as a senior and was named both all-region and all-area teams.

“EJ is known as a shooter and he can really shoot from long range but he is much more than that,” said Davis. “He can handle and pass the ball and has a great understanding of the game. He anticipates well and can really get in passing lanes which has meant lots of steals for him over both his junior college and high school careers. EJ is a great fit for our up-tempo program and he will be an impact player right away.”
