NEWBERRY, S.C. Ė Looking for unique way to spread a little Christmas cheer this holiday season?  The Newberry Athletic Department, in conjunction with the Newberry Sheriff's Department are teaming up to distribute toys to needy children in the area.

Prior to the Newberry vs. Georgia College and State menís basketball contest this Saturday, the Newberry Athletic Department will be collecting toys at the gate.  Free admission will be granted to children for the game, accompanied by a paying guardian who brings a new, unwrapped toy for donation.  The toys should be in the five to ten dollar range.  During halftime of the game, there will be multiple drawings for exciting electronic equipment courtesy of the Newberry College Indian Club.

After the game, the toys will be transferred to the Newberry Sheriff's Department for distribution.  If you canít make it to the game this weekend, the Sheriff's Department will be collecting gifts in the parking lot of the Newberry Wal-Mart throughout the Christmas season.

It's a great way to way to not only cheer on your Newberry Indians, but to help many less fortunate South Carolinians have a memorable holiday season.
