Nick Kamerer

Nick Kamerer completed his fourth season with Newberry in 2017, taking over coaching duties for the team's running backs after coaching the tight ends during his first three seasons.

Kamerer mentored a running back corps in 2017 that included leading rusher Austin Barnes, a converted tight end playing his first season at the position. Barnes rushed 112 times for 494 yards and seven touchdowns, leading the team in all categories. Darius Clark and Chance Walker also added at least 100 yards on the ground to contribute to a rushing attack that accounted for a per-game average of 167.2 yards and 15 touchdowns on the season.

Tight end Baptiste Staggers earned first team all-SAC and second team all-Region for his 24-catch, 260-yard, four-touchdown performance in Newberry's SAC championship season in 2016. Staggers had at least one catch in every regular-season game and had touchdowns in four separate contests.

In 2015, Newberry raced to a 7-5 record (4-3 SAC) and its second playoff birth in three years. Tight end Zach Edmunds was named to second team All-SAC, as the Wolves were honored as the ECAC Division II Team of the Year. The tight ends combined for 17 catches, 135 yards, and 1 receiving touchdown along with 5 rushes for 29 yards and 1 rushing touchdown.

In Kamerer's first season with Newberry as the tight ends coach in 2014, the Wolves compiled a 5-6 record (3-4 SAC). The tight ends combined for 17 catches, 214 yards, and 6 touchdowns.

Previously, Kamerer worked as an offensive assistant/wide receivers coach for Charlotte Country Day School from 2011-13, while finishing his degree in Economics from Elon University in the spring of 2013.
