NEWBERRY – The Newberry College football team has started a fundraiser to benefit current and future student-athletes.

The fundraiser has been active for about 20 days and will extend through the Homecoming game against Limestone on Saturday, Oct. 21. The team’s goal is set at $20,000. Each student-athlete also has his own web page with a set personal goal that runs in conjunction with the team goal.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to help offset the costs incurred during the 2017 season. It will also allow the program to purchase much needed practice equipment, player meals, and the end-of-the-year banquet.

In past years, donations to the fundraiser have gone toward enhancing the positive experiences for student-athletes. In 2016 over $45,000 was spent on items such as: Friday night team meals, pre-game meals, senior gifts, the awards banquet, the meal for the Newberry Football Family Day, and uniforms.

The fundraiser has transitioned to an online donation platform and any donation is greatly appreciated. All donations will benefit the football program directly. A tax-deductible receipt will be issued for your support. To help, please click here.
