AUSTIN, Texas – Offensive lineman Sam Hall and wide receiver Holden Beemiller have been named to the Academic All-District team for their stellar work on the field and in the classroom by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hall and Beemiller, both juniors, were recognized by CoSIDA as all-district performers in Super Region 2, which consists of the South Atlantic Conference, Gulf South Conference, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and three independent institutions across the southeast. Voters take into account academic achievement and athletic performance to determind the top student-athletes in the region.

Hall, a Biology major and Conway native, has a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA. He has played in six games with four starts for the Wolves, all at the right tackle position. He has graded out as high as 88 in a game this season, including a grade of 85 against an All-American defensive end in an early-season game. Hall has been a major part of 20th-ranked Newberry's offensive success this season, helping protect a quarterback that has led the Wolves to the nation's second-most first downs and a No. 10 ranking in passing offense.

Beemiller is a Chandler, Arizona native with a 3.78 GPA in Business Administration. He has played in five games this season, catching seven passes for 63 yards as the No. 2 "W" wide receiver behind Braxton Ivery. He caught three passes for a career-high 35 yards, including a personal-best 24-yard reception, in the season-opener against Florida Tech. He has also hauled in two passes in each of the Wolves' last two home games.

Both Hall and Beemiller will appear on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot later this month by virtue of their inclusion on the All-District teams. The pair gives Newberry 28 all-time Academic All-District selections and marks the ninth season in the past 10 with at least one Newberry honoree.
