Tonight's Todd Knight Coaches Show to broadcast on Twitter

Tonight's Todd Knight Coaches Show to broadcast on Twitter
Thursday, October 6, 2016 | by Randall Stewart, Director of Athletic Communciations

NEWBERRY – Tonight’s Todd Knight Coaches Show will be streamed on Twitter through the Periscope app due to Newberry High School football coverage superseding tonight’s program.

Newberry High School travels to Spartanburg to face Broome High School a night early due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Matthew. Because WKDK-AM 1240 is contractually obligated to broadcast all Newberry High School football games, this will preclude the station from airing the Todd Knight Coaches Show.

Listeners who are not able to travel to San Jose Mexican Restaurant to hear Knight live will be able to follow along via Periscope, a live streaming platform that will allow viewers to watch and listen to tonight’s show.

In the absence of Jimmie Coggins, who serves as Newberry High School’s play-by-play voice, Newberry Director of Athletic Communications Randall Stewart will host tonight’s half-hour program. Tonight’s show will take on a unique format, soliciting questions from patrons at San Jose as well as via the comment feature on the live stream.

Click here to be redirected to Newberry Athletics' Twitter page, where the stream will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The show is expected to return to its normal format next week.
