INDIANAPOLIS - Newberry College graduate and professional football prospect Edmond Robinson (Wadmalaw Island, S.C.) has officially been invited to participate in the 2015 National Football League Scouting Combine, as announced this week.

Robinson, an all-South Atlantic Conference selection and East-West Shrine Game participant following his senior season, was Newberry's leading tackler on the season with 68 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and a quarterback hurry. He had a season-best 13 tackles in the Homecoming game against Lenoir-Rhyne and 11 tackles in the season finale at North Greenville. His 52 solo stops ranked second in the conference, while his two fumble recoveries ranked him in the top five in the league.

Robinson earned first team all-SAC honors for two consecutive years and was also a DAKTRONICS first team all-Super Region Two honoree as a junior in 2013.

He is also the first Newberry College student-athlete to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine since the late Heath Benedict in 2008. The NFL Scouting Combine will be held February 17-23 at the home of the Indianapolis Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium. Coverage on the NFL Network and various media outlets will be announced on NewberryWolves.com and other outlets.

Robinson is one of only two Division II players on the official invite list as announced. The other is WR Tello Luckett of Harding (Ark.) University.
