COACH TO CURE MD
Coach To Cure MD is a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), a professional organization for over 10,000 college football coaches and staff, and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest national charity devoted exclusively to Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The coaching staffs for both Newberry and Mars Hill will be wearing patches to signal their participation in this years' Coach to Cure MD game.

In 2008 the AFCA adopted PPMD's Coach To Cure MD program as one of their charity efforts. One reason the AFCA was drawn to Coach To Cure MD was because of the unique parallels between Duchenne, a disorder which robs young men of precious muscle strength and college football, a game where young men are at the peak of their muscle strength.

Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy has partnered with the Mobile Giving Foundation for a Text-To-Give fundraising platform. Anyone can simply text the word “CURE” to 90999 to make a one time $5 donation to our cause. You can also visit www.CoachToCureMD.com for more information on the program and other ways to donate.

2012-13 NCAA PARTICIPANTS
The last academic year was another successful season for the Newberry College athletic department, and we will honor those teams who made the NCAA Tournament and experienced postseason success. Teams honored at halftime will be the volleyball, wrestling, men's golf and women's golf team.

PUNT, PASS & KICK
Last weekend, the Newberry County Touchdown Club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the City of Newberry Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism hosted Newberry's first Punt, Pass & Kick competition in over 10 years at Setzler Field.

Over 40 children participated in the competition this year, and winners of the various age groups will recognized at halftime.
