Washington was named third team preseason All-American by the USA Football Network on Monday. He was first team all-SAC in 2012 after finishing the season with 51 receptions for 776 yards and nine touchdowns, ranking sixth in the league in receiving yards per game. His 776 yards and nine touchdowns rank fifth in a single season at Newberry, with the 51 receptions the ninth-most in the school's history. He had three games with over 100 yards receiving and also completed his only pass attempt of the season for a 36-yard touchdown.

Williams earned honorable mention preseason All-America honors from the USA Football Network on Monday and jumps to first team preseason all-SAC after second team honors following the 2012 season. He tied for eighth in the league with 7.5 tackles for loss of 45 yards and also had three sacks. He had a total of 24 tackles on the season.

Crook enters his third season as the Wolves' long snapper and earns his first conference honor. Newberry has had only one punt blocked during Crook's tenure and he snapped to last year's second team all-SAC punter.

Murden will enter his second season as Newberry's full-time starting quarterback after a fantastic sophomore season. He already ranks in the school's top 10 in all career passing categories and had the third-most passing yards in a season in school history last year, as he completed 196-of-322 passes for 2,334 yards and 20 touchdowns with only eight interceptions. He was also the Wolves' second-leading rusher with 68 carries for 270 yards and was sacked only nine times in 10 games. Murden ranks second in school history with five games of 250 yards or more passing, including four last season. He had the SAC's third best completion rate (60.9%) and ranked fourth in completions, attempts, yards and touchdowns.

Livingston caught 44 receptions last season for 514 yards and six touchdowns. He ranked in the top 10 in the conference in all receiving categories. Livingston has also been one of Newberry's leading return men the last two seasons. For his career, he has caught 75 passes for 905 yards and eight touchdowns.

Ellis earns his first preseason all-SAC honor after starting in eight games over the last two seasons. The Wolves' offensive line has become known for excellent pass protection in Ellis' tenure and he is expected to lead an offensive line which returns four starters from the end of last season.

Mazyck earns his first conference and is expected to emerge as a leader in the linebacking corps this season. He ranked fifth on the team last year with 46 tackles, five tackles for loss, one quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery. He had a season high of nine tackles in the win over eventual national quarterfinalist Carson-Newman.

Davis rounds out the preseason all-SAC listing from his safety position. He had 40 tackles last year, with seven pass breakups and an interception at Tusculum. Over his three seasons in the scarlet and gray, Davis has tallied 106 tackles and four interceptions.

The Wolves begin preseason practice for their 100th season Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in preparation for the season opener on September 7 at Elizabeth City State. The home opener is on September 14 at 1 p.m. against Florida Tech.
