Apollo Stretch named Beyond Sports Network third team All-American

LEESBURG, Va. - Newberry College junior linebacker Apollo Stretch (Columbia, S.C.) has been named a third team All-American by the Beyond Sports Network, it was announced today. This marks the first career All-American honor for Stretch.

Stretch was named a first team DAKTRONICS all-Super Region Two pick, while the Don Hansen Committee named him to its second team all-Super Region Two. Stretch was a first team all-South Atlantic Conference pick and led the league and finished tied for 15th nationally with 10.5 tackles per game. He had 105 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and three sacks. He had double-digit tackle numbers in five of the 10 games, including 17 in the Bishops Trophy game at Lenoir-Rhyne. He averaged 11.1 stops in conference games.
