ROCK HILL, S.C. - Newberry College sophomore wide receiver and return specialist Jason Livingston has been named the week 11 South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league office today.
Livingston (Conway, S.C.) sealed Newberry's season-ending 42-24 win over Brevard with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. It was Livingston's first career return touchdown and Newberry's first special teams return touchdown of the season. He had a total of 147 return yards on his three kickoff returns.
Livingston finished second in the South Atlantic Conference individual rankings in both kickoff and punt return average. He averaged 7.7 yards per punt return and 27.1 yards per kickoff return.
Mars Hill's record breaking running back Jonas Randolph was named the offensive player of the week, while Tusculum's Terrence Smith was the defensive player of the week.
