Monday, August 15, 2011

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The annual Newberry College Football Fan Appreciation Day will take place this Saturday, August 20, from 11 a.m. until noon at historic Setzler Field. The team's second full scrimmage of the preseason will take place later in the evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Fan Appreciation Day will provide fans the opportunity to meet the players and coaches from the 2011 squad after they finish their annual team photo. The players will participate in games with children and autograph free posters which will be distributed at the event.

SCAR, the Newberry College mascot, will also be around to hang out with the kids, take photos and get everyone pumped up for the football season.

The always popular coaches dunking booth will be set up as well, with all donations going directly to charitable organizations.

The Flying Pie will be the official concessions provider at Setzler Field for the second consecutive season, and will have concessions available at both Fan Appreciation Day as well as the evening scrimmage.

Tickets will be available for the Wolves' five home games as well. The 2011 home schedule features games with North Greenville, Mars Hill, Tusculum, UNC Pembroke and Brevard.
